About GCM Bands.

The Goose Creek Memorial Bands consist of the Patriot Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band. Students who are involved in the band program perform in one, if not more, of these ensembles. Check the calendar page to find upcoming performances that you can attend.

Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the premier concert ensemble at GCM. Students who perform in this ensemble exhibit a high level of musicianship, character, and dedication to the G​CM band program. Directed by Mr. Schultz, the Wind Ensemble performs throughout the year as the varsity ensemble and maintains a high level of musical performance.

Symphonic Band

The Symphonic Band is the non-varsity band at GCM. Students who perform in this ensemble exhibit a strong background in musicianship and character, while continuing to build their musical skills. Directed by Mr. Arteaga, the Symphonic Band performs throughout the year and displays a strong level of musical excellence in every performance.

Patriot Marching Band

The Patriot Marching Band performs throughout the Fall season. You can find the marching band at Goose Creek Memorial football games, US Bands competitions, UIL Marching Evaluation, and parades. Students begin rehearsing in late July and continue through early December, boasting over 15 performances throughout the Fall season. 

Jazz Band

The GCM Jazz Band consists of students who are interested in learning about jazz style, history, and music. Students get to expand their skills in improvisation, musical literacy, and performance. Concerts can be found on the GCM band calendar.
